David Joseph Most, 70, of Lancaster, is accused of aggravated assault and simple assault stemming from the incident on the 700 block of Scotland Court on Sunday, Nov. 17.

The victim told police they were arguing with Most when he pushed them down a staircase. The fall caused injuries to their head, neck, and back, resulting in severe pain and visible bruising, police said. Most reportedly refused to help the victim seek medical care.

The victim sought treatment at an urgent care facility but was later transferred to Lancaster General Hospital for trauma care, authorities said.

Most admitted to grabbing the victim at the top of the staircase but denied pushing them, according to the criminal complaint.

He was charged on Nov. 18 and taken to Lancaster County Prison before being released on $40,000 bail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for a later date.
